30th June 1969: Sanath Jayasuriya - Happy Birthday Matara Marauder

49 years ago on this day one of Sri Lanka's greatest batsmen ever was born in the city of Matara near the southern-most coast of the island nation. Sanath Jayasuriya had a terrible start to his international career, just like several other contemporaries of his in the Sri Lankan team, who were the whipping boys of international cricket in late 1980's and early 1990s.
